We're here to help.

Most issues with Purge fall into one of the categories below. If none of these fix your problem, email us at lucas@scariot.fr — we read and reply to every message, usually within two business days.
Before you write in, please include your iPhone model, iOS version, and the Purge version (Settings → About in the app). That information saves us a round-trip.
Purge can't see my photos
Purge needs full photo library access to find near-duplicates and move items to Recently Deleted. If the app is stuck on a blank library:
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Purge.
- Tap Photos and make sure Full Access is selected.
- Return to Purge and tap
RESCAN.
The scan seems stuck or very slow
The first full scan can take a few minutes on large libraries — we're fingerprinting every photo locally. If it's been much longer than expected:
- Make sure the device isn't in Low Power Mode (it throttles background work).
- Keep Purge in the foreground for the first scan. Subsequent scans run quickly in the background.
- Force-quit Purge (swipe up from the home bar and flick Purge away) and reopen — progress is persisted between launches.
I deleted the wrong photo — can I get it back?
Yes. Purge never hard-deletes anything. Anything you remove goes to the system Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where iOS keeps it for 30 days. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted to restore.
A photo I wanted to keep is being grouped as a duplicate
Purge groups aggressively so you see fewer near-identical shots. You're always in control — during a review session, tap a photo to unselect it, or swipe to keep. Nothing is removed until you confirm.
My streak reset — why?
Purge gives you one forgiven missed day per rolling 7-day window. If you miss two days in the same week, the streak resets. Tap your streak badge on the home screen to see how much grace you have left.
I want to delete all my data from Purge
Purge stores all its scan data locally on your device, so removing the app removes all data. On iOS: long-press the Purge icon → Remove App → Delete App. If you also want your anonymous analytics cleared from our servers, email lucas@scariot.fr and we'll do it.
How do I request a feature?
We love hearing ideas. Drop a note to lucas@scariot.fr with "feature request" in the subject and we'll add it to the list.
Still stuck?
Email lucas@scariot.fr. Include a short description of what happened and, if possible, a screenshot. We'll get back to you.
